A total of 1250 vacancies will be filled under this recruitment. Of these, the highest number of posts is for Block Cooperative Officer, which is 502, while 459 posts are for Block Minority Welfare Officer.
However, this time, top posts like SDM (Sub-Divisional Officer) and DSP (Deputy Superintendent of Police) have not been included, which is slightly different from earlier recruitments. Still, this exam is a great opportunity for those candidates who want to work in different departments of the Bihar Government.

Who can apply? (Eligibility)
According to the BPSC 71st Notification, there are some necessary conditions to apply. First of all, you must have a graduation degree from a recognized university. If you are in the final year and your results will come before the main examination, then you can also apply.

Exam Pattern and Selection Process
There will be three stages in this recruitment process: first, a preliminary exam, second, a main exam, and third interview. The preliminary exam of BPSC will probably be held on 30 August 2025. In each stage, candidates will have to prove their eligibility.
It will have objective-type questions of 150 marks, which will be from general studies. The good thing is that there will be no negative marking in it. This exam will be only for screening, that is, its marks will not be added to the merit list.
There will be four different papers in the main exam. The first paper will be of General Hindi, which will have 100 marks. The second paper will be of essay, which will be of 300 marks. Apart from this, there will be two papers of general studies, both of 300 marks each. Also, there will be an optional subject paper, which will have 300 marks.
After this, there will be an interview, which will be of 100 marks. A friend of mine had prepared for the BPSC last year, and he told me that time management is very important in the prelims. So, make sure to practice by taking mock tests.
What are the posts this time?
This time, BPSC has released a total of 1250 posts, which are in different departments. Some of the special posts among these are:
Senior Deputy Collector | 100 posts |
Financial Administrative Officer | 79 posts |
Block Cooperative Officer | 502 posts |
Block Minority Welfare Officer | 459 posts |
Revenue Officer | 45 posts |
BPSC has also said that if information about more posts is given by the government by the last date of application, then they will also be added to this recruitment. This was also very interesting for me, because this can increase the number of seats further.
How to prepare? Some important tips
To prepare for BPSC, first read its official syllabus thoroughly. Use NCERT books for general studies and monthly magazines for current affairs. The candidates I spoke to say that giving mock tests daily and solving previous year papers is very beneficial. Focus on time management and daily revision. If you are taking online coaching, then definitely check whether it is reliable or not.
The BPSC 71st Notification 2025 presents a great opportunity to secure a well-respected position in the Bihar Government. This recruitment of 1250 posts includes important posts like Block Cooperative Officer and Minority Welfare Officer, which can take your career to new heights.
